On December 3, FPT University announced that it has been the top-ranked in the list of Vietnamese team and the second-ranked one in the regional classification at ACM/ICPC International Collegiate Programming Contest held in Da Nang.
Regional Round of ACM / ICPC (co-organized by Vietnam Association for Information Processing, Vietnamese Student Association, Department of Education and Training and Duy Tan University) gathered 250 outstanding teams in the field of information technology from 71 universities, colleges and institutes in the whole country. In addition, 15 international teams from other countries and regions, such as Japan, China, South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Thailand and Indonesia also attended in this contest.
After tests, FPT University and Beijing University (China) finished the competition with the same number of exercises (8 among 10 excercises). However, Beijing University attached the first position with the total time for answering exercises less than 9 minutes compared to FPT’s time.
From 2006 up to now, Vietnam has continuously had teams ranked in top 100 universities which have registered in the ACM/ICPC World Finals. The ranks of Vietnamese teams at the ACM/ICPC world finals will contribute to improve significantly the image and position of education and training field in information technology in international friends’ eyes.
At the ACM/ICPC World Finals, FPT team will face with over 120 teams from 91 countries.
