Six companies, namely, Ho Chi Minh City Power Corporation, Viettel, VNPT, Saigontourist Cable Television Company, FPT Telecom, and HCMC Electric Power Trading Investment Corporation, signed an agreement on August 13 to install underground power grid and telecommunication cables in the City.
Accordingly, the companies will form a joint steering committee to supervise execution of the work and ensure quality. They will also see that contractors unearth road surfaces and pavements for the fewest times and do not cause undue inconvenience to citizens, besides impeding traffic.
The six companies also agreed to invite bids from experienced contractors for laying the sewer system for both power grid and telecommunication cables.
By September, the companies will jointly kick off 38 projects along 47 streets across a length of 116 kilometers for medium voltage cable wires and 182 kilometers for low voltage wires, in Districts 1, 2,3, 4, 5, 10, 11, Binh Thanh, Go Vap, Tan Binh and Thu Duc.
