PANO – Former Vietnamese Ambassador to Romania Nguyen Quang Chien was presented the Grand Cross of the Order for Merit, an noble award of the Romanian President, in recognition of his contribution to the fruitful bilateral relations between Vietnam and Romania.
Valeriu Arteni, Romanian Ambassador to Vietnam, handed over this award to Nguyen Quang Chien on July 11th in Hanoi.
The award showed Romania’s high appreciation and acknowledgement to former Ambassador Nguyen Quang Chien, and is also evidence of the good relationship of the two countries.
During his term (2009-2012) as ambassador, Nguyen Quang Chien contributed to the signing of bilateral cooperation agreements, successfully organised working visits of ministries and agencies to each country, and promoted traditional relations of the two nations in general, and among localities of the two countries in particular, and economic cooperation.
Nguyen Quang Chien worked with relevant agencies to successfully organise the 14th session of Intergovernmental Committee on Romania-Vietnam Trade Cooperation, and various visits to promote trade between the two countries.
During his term, Vietnam became Romania’s leading partner among ASEAN members.
At the ceremony, the former Vietnamese ambassador to Romania said that with his love for Romania, he will do his best to promote the close relations between Vietnam and Romania.
