The 22-day long program will visit 35 cities and provinces countrywide aiming to promote and organize blood donation days in 15 cities and provinces.
Hanh trinh do is divided into two routes: one departing from Ca Mau Province to 11 cities and provinces namely Can Tho, HCMC, Lam Dong, Daklak, Binh Dinh, Quang Nam, Danang, Thua Thien-Hue, Quang Binh, Nghe An Thanh Hoa and Hanoi, while the second route will start from Dien Bien, Son La to Hanoi.
The opening ceremony will be held in Ca Mau with a blood donation day on Sunday. Hundreds of volunteers from around the country will gather in Hanoi for a big blood donation on July 27.
There are 30 blood donation days to be held during the program. The organizers expect to collect 12,000 blood units to help patients in need.
Moreover, Hanh trinh do will also raise awareness of the thalassemia disorder to the community as well as call for the community to take care and support underprivileged patients with thalassemia, an inherited blood disorder which makes sufferers anemic requiring frequent blood donations.
The program expects to attract the participation of 5,000 volunteers, 150 artists and singers, as well as over 200 companies and organizations nationwide who will donate blood.
