The excavation of shipwreck in Chau Thuan Bien village, Binh Chau commune, Binh Son district has on June 11 stops temporarily because of 5-8 m high waves hitting the 600 sqr. steel breakwater, which is protecting the shipwreck and antiques from seawater.
All architectures and excavators of Anh Duong Co., which was assigned by Quang Ngai government to implement the exhumation, have to move out of the area for safety.
The barge for the sake of excavation is also towed far away off the ancient boat to make sure it can not break the breakwater.
According to Mr Doan Sung, the consultant of Anh Duong Co., they plan to pick all antiques out of seawater but bad weather makes them stop working. As released by Mr Sung, the shipwreck has been found to be 24 m in length and 5.6 m wide.
At the moment, relevant partners are finding methods to protect the shipwreck and all antiques from attacks of huge waves.
